Summa Health – Wadsworth Rittman Hospital Operation Room Renovations renovated four existing operating rooms into a single, new operating room with code-required support, including soiled room, EVS, clean storage, and instrument storage. Medical gas work included tapping into existing oxygen, medical air, vacuum, nitrogen, and nitrous oxide, with new carbon dioxide manifold and associated tanks. A custom air handling unit solution was applied to meet the requirements of limited roof space and specific air and humidity delivery temperatures. Remote-mounted steam duct humidifiers aid in maintaining code-required humidity. Pressure and carbon dioxide sensors provide added space control. Design included limited ceiling plenum space available for MEP systems, where our integrated BIM approach played a key role in delivering a coordinated set of construction documentation.
